Some new faces on Tipp County Council

The 40 seats on Tipperary County Council have been filled following the conclusion of the count in Thurles on Sunday.

The Independents came out on top in Tipp with the Lowry Team accounting for five councillors while Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil mirrored their success nationally as did the drop in support for Sinn Féin. Labour are up, taking three seats in the Premier County.

The elected councillors include:

Nenagh LEA: Joe Hannigan (Independent), Michael O'Meara (Lowry Team), Louise Morgan Walsh (Labour), Seamie Morris (Independent), Ryan O'Meara (Fianna Fail).

Newport LEA: Fiona Bonfield (Labour), Pamela Quirke O'Meara (Lowry Team), Dr Phyll Bugler (Fine Gael), John Carroll (Fianna Fail).

Roscrea-Templemore LEA: Michael Smith (Fianna Fail), Shane Lee (Lowry Team), Eddie Moran (Lowry Team), Willie Kennedy (Fine Gael).

Thurles LEA: Jim Ryan (Independent), Micheal Lowry (Lowry Team), Sean Ryan (Fianna Fail), Kay Cahill Skehan (Fianna Fail), Peggy Ryan (FG).
