Biodiversity forum for Tipp
A biodiversity forum is to be established by Tipperary Co Council.
The May meeting of Nenagh Municipal District heard that the forum would be comprised of elected representatives, council executive members, and representatives of the Public Participation Network, National Parks & Wildlife Service, Bord na Móna, Irish Farmers Association, Inland Fisheries Ireland, Birdwatch Ireland, Hedgerows Ireland and the Community Wetlands Forum.
The forum is to meet on a regular basis. A Biodiversity Action Plan is to be devised and it will identify 30 projects countywide.
Cllr Joe Hannigan asked for local Tidy Towns groups to be given priority as they are very keen to get involved.
