Creedon steps down as Tipp Ladies Football boss

FORMER Carlow LGFA manager Ed Burke is to take over the helm of Tipperary Ladies Football after Peter Creedon announced that that he will not be continuing in his role as manager for 2025.

The Thurles Sarsfields clubman has been Tipp manager for the last three seasons, in which they have stabilised their place in the senior grade for the sixth year in a row.

Tipperary LGFA thanked Peter and his backroom team of Michael O’Loughlin, Tony Smith, Johnny Nevin, Annie McCarra, Niamh Browne, Mairead O’Connor, John Hickey, Laura Kealy, Ailbhe Ryan, Tommy Toomey, Ellen Ryan and Adrian Cooke, for their time, effort and commitment since taking up their roles in October 2021.

The 2024 season ended with a determined win over Laois in the Relegation Qualifier maintaining senior status again for the 2025 season.

During the year, under Peter’s stewardship, the senior team had some very tough games against the strongest established senior teams in the country and with every game Tipperary improved. The Seniors were disappointed and unlucky in both the League and Championship with a large number of the games decided by the tightest of margins.

The former Tipperary and Laois men’s football manager has left the senior set up in a better place after his tenure and we all wish to acknowledge the huge contribution, commitment and dedication that he and his management team have made to Tipperary Ladies Football over the years.

Following a Tipperary LGFA County Board meeting last Monday night, Ed Burke has been ratified as the new Tipperary Ladies Football Senior Manager. Ed announced his resignation as Carlow mananger last week following his side's exit from the TG4 All-Ireland Junior Semi Final. Carlow paid tribute to the outgoing manager, who showed huge commitment and dedication to Carlow Ladies over the past three years, culminating in them winning the Lidl National League Division 4. Ed is wished the best of luck in his new role with the Tipperary Ladies.
