Tipperary Co Council has submitted an application to the EPA for the designation of a bathing area in Dromineer. An element of the move was the provision of lifeguards.

The July meeting of the council's Nenagh Municipal District was informed that interviews for lifeguards were held but, unfortunately, there was not sufficient numbers to provide a lifeguard service this year.
