Watch Centre Junior 'A' Hurling Championship: The quarter finals took place last Friday with both Roscrea and Ballinahinch victorious.

Roscrea had a 3-16 to 1-18 victory over Nenagh Eire Og in Cloughjordan. Roscrea held a 2-13 to 0-10 half time lead after putting in an impressive first half display with goals from Conor Bergin and Liam Seacy. A Jason Gilmartin goal in the 35th minute stretched the Roscrea lead to twelve points. To their credit - Eire Og never gave up and put in a spirited fight back. This started with a Liam Heffernan goal in the 41st minute and Eire Og gradually reduced the deficit through the remainder of the half but too much damage was done in the first half.

In the second quarter final, Kilruane, with the aid of the breeze, held a 1-11 to 0-11 half time lead against Ballinahinch with Jack Mulcahy scoring the goal in the 31st minute. Ballinahinch made an excellent start to the second half, scoring 3-1 in the opening minutes to take control. Kilruane scored two consolation goals late on through Brian O'Meara and Eoin Carroll. Port upped their game and a goal as the game entered the closing stages reduced the deficit to three points, leading to a nervy ending. David Whelton was outstanding all through for the victors, while Emmet Floyd scored 0-5 on his return to the fold and Stephen Coffey accounted for 0-10 (7f).
