Summer music event delivers an unforgettable experience

The Devil’s Bit Music Festival 2024 has once again proven to be a highlight of the summer, bringing together music-lovers from near and far for a day of unforgettable performances, vibrant atmosphere, and community spirit.

The festival's epic lineup did not disappoint, headlined by Coldplace, the world's leading tribute to Coldplay, who electrified the crowd with their stunning renditions as part of their world tour. Pogueology, a tribute to The Pogues, delivered a powerful and emotional performance in memory of the legendary Shane MacGowan, capturing the true essence of The Pogues' passion and energy.

Local favourites, Silver Dollar, made a triumphant return, delighting fans with their signature sound. Rising star, 14-year-old Lorcan Kennedy, wowed the audience with his incredible talent, marking him as one to watch in the future.

Jester, Eoin Ryan, James McGrath, and local band Out The Road all delivered standout sets, while DJs Lorcan Ryan and Eoin Fitz kept the energy high throughout the day.

The Devil’s Bit Mountain provided a breathtaking backdrop for the festival, enhancing the magical atmosphere of live music and camaraderie. Attendees enjoyed delicious food from a variety of vendors including Premier Meats, an award-winning Thurles based butchers, Templemore’s One19 café, and refreshments from the full bar provided by Tom Maher's Inn, aka: Tom The Bucks, Templemore, ensuring a day of indulgence and enjoyment.

SUPPORTING A WORTHY CAUSE

This year's festival was proud to support the Suir Haven Cancer Support Centre in Thurles. Representatives from Suir Haven were in attendance, engaging with festival-goers and raising awareness about their vital services.

The generosity of the attendees was truly inspiring, with €700 collected in bucket donations throughout the day. This incredible show of support will go a long way in helping Suir Haven continue their essential work within the community. The festival committee will also be donating in the coming days.

With ample parking and a well-organised setup, attendees were able to focus solely on enjoying the music and the vibrant festival environment. The event maintained a strict over 18s policy, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

As the echoes of the final notes fade away, the Devil’s Bit Music Festival team is already looking ahead to next year, with plans to make the 2025 festival even more spectacular. Keep an eye on the Devil’s Bit Music Festival Facebook and Instagram pages for more photos, updates and announcements.

A massive thank you to all our performers, volunteers, sponsors, and especially the attendees for making this year's festival such a resounding success. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
