€78k lotto winner in North Tipp!

Lotto players in the Nenagh area are being urged to check their tickets carefully today after one midweek player matched five numbers and the bonus to win €78,038. The Tipperary winner scooped their prize after purchasing their Quick Pick ticket on Tuesday, August 27, at Lidl Nenagh on Martyrs Road in Nenagh.

The winning numbers in the Wednesday 28th August Lotto draw were: 02, 15, 18, 27, 29, 38 and the bonus was 30.

The National Lottery is urging Lotto players who may have purchased their tickets at the Lidl Nenagh store to carefully check their tickets today as one player now has a ticket worth €78,038. The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and to keep it safe. They should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to collect their prize at Lottery Headquarters.

Meanwhile, as there was no winner of the €2,670,804 jackpot on offer in the midweek draw, Saturday’s Lotto jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €3 million.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr had the following advice for players: “The midweek Lotto draw brought lots of excitement for one Tipperary player who became the biggest winner of the night after matching five numbers and the bonus to win €78,038. We are encouraging all of our players who may have popped into Lidl Nenagh on Tuesday 27th August and purchased their Quick Pick ticket to carefully check those tickets today as one person has a big prize waiting for them. The winner should make contact with our prize claims team who will make arrangements for them to visit our Winners Room to pick up their prize-winning cheque.”

“As the Wednesday night jackpot saw no outright winner, Saturday’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €3 million. Lotto players hoping to be the next big winner are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the app or online at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.45pm cut-off time for sales on Saturday evening.”

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6 billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 36 years ago. In 2022 alone, €259.5 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
