Pike Rovers 1-1 Nenagh AFC

Pike Rovers only kicked off their campaign on Thursday against an in-form Nenagh side in Crossagalla.

A cracking goal Dylan Kelly-Higgins gave Pike the lead and it looked like it might be enough to secure the points until Lee Mowatt struck with a late deserved equaliser.

Aisling Annacotty 4-2 Newport Town

Premier League champions Aisling Annacotty recorded a 4-2 win over Newport Town on Thursday evening.

Aisling raced into a 3-0 lead before Newport pulled one back through Jay Ryan.

The home side restore their three goal advantage and Darren Collins completed the scoring for the visitors.

Nenagh AFC 1-2 Hyde Rangers

With Nenagh flying in the league, hopes were high when they hosted new boys Hyde Rangers on Sunday in Brickfields.

However, the visitors scored either side of the break to take a two goal lead. Eamon White pulled one back, but they were unable to salvage anything from the tie.

Newport Town 0-4 Ballynanty Rovers

Newport Town have had a poor start to the campaign and on Sunday suffered their fourth successive defeat going down 4-0 at home to Ballynanty Rovers.

Jamie Greaves, Tony Mambuana, Calum Kiely, and Darren Lawlor were on the mark for the Limerick side.

In the Munster Champions Cup quarter final on Saturday, Tipperary side Killavilla United proved no match for a slick Aisling Annacotty who ran in seven goals without reply.

Lower Leagues

In Division 1B, Nenagh AFC ‘B’ beat Kilfrush 2-0 in midweek with goals from Paul McLoughlin and Dylan Kennedy.

Newport Town ‘B’ pulled off a coup in persuading Keith Mawdsley out of retirement. A potent finisher in his heyday, Mawdsley showed he has lost none of his instinct scoring twice in a 3-0 win over Patrickswell. Luke Ryan was also on the mark.

The two Tipperary sides met on Sunday, and it was Nenagh who took bragging rights. Jonathan Lawlor goal gave Nenagh a 1-0 win to put them joint top of the table with Herbertstown.

In Division 3A, Wayne Collin (2) and Dan Egan netted in Newport Town ‘C’s 3-0 win at Athlunkard Villa in midweek.

On Saturday, Newport took on Nenagh AFC ‘C’ and ran out comfortable 9-0 winners with goals from Dan Egan (4), Wayne Collin (2), Colm O'Malley and Evan Geraghty.

In the Youth Premier League, Nenagh AFC recorded a superb 5-3 win over Fairview Rangers with goals from Daniel Connolly, Mark Manley, Kian McDonald, Deyson Lucas and David Flynn while Lough Derg were also winners, John Kerr’s goal securing the points against Corbally United.
