Trio of artists at Nenagh Library

Nenagh Library is showcasing the work of three different artists in September, welcoming back sisters Lian Knight-Hogan and Edwina Knight, who are joined this month by newcomer Barry Lemasney.

Lian is a self-taught artist working mainly in watercolours. Asked to sum up her creative philosophy she says: “To me painting is not a chore but an exciting anticipation of the wonders of the human brain to see, to interpret and to enjoy my simple surroundings, while capturing that sparkle.”

Barry Lemasney, from Castleconnell, trained as a printmaker in the Limerick School of Art and Design, graduating in 2018 with a first class honours in Fine Art. His interest is in portraiture and landscapes, working in oils and acrylic. His paintings in this exhibition focus on landscapes, particularly different aspects of the River Shannon, in an attempt to capture the varying moods of the river and thereby showcase the fragility of its ecosystem.

Edwina Knight is a visual artist. A graduate of the Limerick School of Art and Design with a degree in fine Art Sculpture and teaching, Edwina divides her time between teaching and painting. A seasoned exhibitor, she will remain with Nenagh Library for the month of October.
