Listowel marks transition between seasons

Aidan O'Brien sent out Right And True to win the opening one-mile auction maiden at Listowel on Monday week last.

Ridden by Jack Cleary, the 11/4 joint-favourite stayed on well to win by three-and-three-quarter-lengths for owners Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, and Mrs John Magnier.

O'Brien and Cleary later completed a double when Dublin easily landed the one-mile maiden by four lengths. Carrying the colours of Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith, the 15/8 favourite led over a furlong out.

Gavin Ryan won the one-mile-four-furlong maiden on odds-on favourite Trapalanda. Carrying the colours of HJ O'Reilly & C J O'Reilly, the Paul Fahey trained colt scored by two-and-a-half-lengths.

Andrew Slattery Senior and Junior won the one-mile-six-furlong handicap with 14/1 chance Sir Allen. Owned by the Eight Star Syndicate, the gelding scored by two-and-a-half-lengths.

Aidan O'Brien and Wayne Lordan teamed up to win the six-furlong nursery at Fairyhouse on Monday with Sweet Chariot. Sent off at 9/2, the Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith owned filly won by half-a-length.

Aidan O'Brien provided Ryan Moore with an early winner on his first visit to Listowel as Thrice justified 1-4f in the opening seven-furlong maiden on Tuesday. Owned by Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith, the colt stayed on well inside the final furlong to win by four lengths.

O'Brien and Moore later doubled up when Medici Venus got up close home to win the one-mile rated race. Sent off 15/8, the Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, and Mrs John Magnier owned filly prevailed by a short head.

David Marnane was also amongst the winners on the card, with the Luke McAteer ridden Amemri taking the seven-furlong handicap. Owned by Ms Melanie Marnane, the 11/2 chance beat Nika Pika by three-quarters-of-a-length.

Hillary McLoughlin sent out 8/1 chance Ramiro to win the seven-furlong handicap under James Ryan. Owned by Castle Racing Syndicate, the gelding stayed on late to win by three-quarters-of-a-length.

John Patrick Ryan trained Donacheady Gale to win the two-mile-six-furlong handicap chase at Listowel on Friday. Ridden by Sean O'Keeffe, the 8/1 winner scored by one-and-a-quarter lengths for owner John Devine.

David Doyle won the concluding two-mile bumper at Listowel on Saturday on 5/2 joint-favourite Windbeneathmywings. Owned and trained by Pat Flynn, the winner made all to readily score by five lengths.

Denis Hogan sent out Dynamite Defense to win the one-mile handicap at Dundalk on Friday. Sent off 12/1, the Premier Racing Club owned three-year-old prevailed by half-a-length under Killian Leonard.

Nathan Crosse won the opening six-furlong maiden at the Curragh on Saturday on Fregada. Trained by John Feane, the well backed 12/1 (from 40) chance stayed on well to win by three-quarters-of-a-length in the colours of Ms Charlotte Musgrave.

Mark Molloy sent out Just For One Day to win the six-furlong maiden under Killian Leonard. Sent off at 9/2, the Mrs Paul Shanahan and David Wachman owned filly scored by one-and-a-half lengths.

Andrew Slattery won the ten-furlong student derby with the Emily Costello partnered Narragansett. Sent off at 20/1, the John Hyde owned winner kept on strongly to prevail by three-quarters-of-a-length.

Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore enjoyed a four-timer at the Curragh on Sunday. Shackleton won the opening nine-furlong maiden by two-and-a-quarter lengths. Sent off 2/5f, the winner was owned by Peter M Brant, Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith.

Aftermath brought up a quick double for jockey and trainer in the following seven-furlong maiden. Sent off 5/6, the Westerberg, Mrs J Magnier, M Tabor, D Smith owned colt won easily by five-and-a-half lengths.

Heaven’s Gate completed the treble when landing the Group 3 seven-furlong stakes by a neck. Owned by Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, and Mrs John Magnier, the filly was sent off 11/8 favourite.

The Euphrates brought up the four-timer for O'Brien and Moore when winning the two-mile Irish Cesarewitch. Owned by Brant, Magnier, Tabor, Westerberg, Smith, the 7/2 favourite won by half-a-length.

David Marnane won the seven-furlong Rated Race with Tokenomics. Ridden by Luke McAteer, the MRC International owned 7/2 chance won by one-and-a-quarter lengths.
