Junior 'C' Hurling Championship: The semi-finals took place last Sunday.

Ballina had a 1-13 to 0-8 victory at home to Lorrha. Ballina held a 0-8 to 0-4 half time lead with a Ryan McGrath goal in the 56th minute helping to secure victory for the Shannonsiders.

Silvermines had a 0-14 to 0-11 victory away to Shannon Rovers in Ballinderry. Silvermines led 0-6 to 0-5 at half time and held out for victory after a tight tussle.

The Final will take place this Saturday, 19th October at 4.00pm in Toomevara.

Silvermines, as holders, will be looking to claim back to back titles after their victory last year.

Under 21 Hurling Championships: commence this weekend.

Both 'A' and 'B' Championships will consist of two groups with the top two teams in each group progressing to the semi-finals.

The 'A' Championship will start this Saturday with the Group 1 clash of Nenagh Eire Og v Roscrea in Nenagh at 12 noon. The remaining games will all take place this Sunday.

The second game in Group 1 of the 'A' sees Silvermines host Kiladangan at 12 noon in Dolla. In Group 2, Borris-Ileigh host Ballina at 12 noon with Toomevara having a bye.

In Group 1 of the 'B' grade, Newport host Moneygall/Clonakenny at 12 noon whilst Borrisokane host Ballinahinch/Templederry at 2.00pm.

Group 2's games both throw in at 12 noon, Kilruane MacDonaghs host Burgess whilst Portroe host Lorrha Rovers.

County Action: Congratulations to Moneygall who claimed the County Intermediate Hurling title last Saturday after they defeated Ballingarry in an exciting final.

Commiserations to Toomevara (Senior) and Kiladangan (Junior 'A') who lost their respective finals.

Congratulations to Newport who claimed the County U15 'C' (2nd side) title last Saturday after defeating St Marys in the final.

Well done to Silvermines who have progressed to the County Junior 'B' Hurling Final after defeating Cahir last Saturday whilst commiserations to Newport who lost to Cappawhite in the second semi-final.

Best of luck to Newport who face Cashel King Cormacs this Saturday in the County Under 15 'A' Hurling Final.

Best of luck also to Kiladangan who face Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams this Saturday in the County Junior 'A' Football Final.

Well done to Burgess who progressed to the County Junior 'B' Football Final after they defeated Thurles Gaels last Saturday in the semi-final. They will face either Aherlow or Rosegreen in the final in the coming weeks.
