Thursday's meeting can also be accessed online through Zoom.

Roscrea Speakers Club members meet

Our last meeting of Roscrea Speakers Club was on Thursday, October 10, at 8pm and this was our our club contest night for Humorous Speech and Table Topics.

These nights are not to be missed as they take on a slightly different format to our normal meetings. We had two humorous speeches on the night with two amazing ladies battling it out on the stage.

The first speech had a very intriguing title ‘Quote Misconception’. The second speech had an equally intriguing title ‘The Wish’. Both speakers had between almost seven minutes to dazzle the audience with their witty humour.

As a standard feature of all our meetings we also held a Table Topics session where typically members and guests are given a topic and invited to speak on the topic for up to two minutes. This time, the Table Topics session had an added competitive edge to it also as we had witnessed three contestants taking to the floor in the hope of winning the Club Table Topics Contest with the hope to go through to the area final.

Our next hybrid meeting will be held on Thursday, October 24, as always at 8pm and at the same venue of our historical and recently renovated Roscrea Courthouse. By hybrid we mean, the choice of attending in person in our meeting room in Old Roscrea Courthouse E53TD51 or attending online through a Zoom meeting link from the comfort of your own home or office if you wish.

Indeed, Roscrea Speakers Club is one of the few clubs to offer this hybrid facility to guests and members and this is a huge factor in the continuing growth and success of our club. Meetings are held every second Thursday thereafter and always available online also through a Zoom link. Guests are always welcome to attend and see what Roscrea Speakers Club is all about. You will receive a very warm, friendly and encouraging welcome. Full details to follow on our Facebook page or Club Toastmasters website or in all local newspapers.
