Two arrested over Roscrea assault
Two men have been arrested following what has been described as a serious incident of assault in Roscrea last week.
One person was taken to the hospital for the treatment of serious injuries in the incident, which was reported in the Corville area at approximately 1pm on Thursday. Gardaí appointed a senior investigating officer as well as a family liaison officer as part of their investigation into the incident. An appeal for witness information, including mobile phone or dash-cam footage, was issued.
On Saturday, two men, both local to Roscrea, were arrested and questioned at Nenagh Garda Station. One was brought before a special court sitting in Limerick and charged with assault causing harm. He was then released from custody on conditional bail.
The other man was released after being questioned by the gardaí. A file on the matter is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
