Weather Advisory for Tipperary – Wednesday 20th November 2024 @ 6 pm

Severe Weather Advisory for Tipperary - Orange Snow/Ice warning in place for Tipperary valid from midnight Wednesday 20th November 2024 to noon on Thursday 21st November 2024.

Tipperary County Council is issuing a warning for significant snowfall accumulations expected in the area, resulting in very difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, travel disruption, and delays to public transport. The Council’s winter maintenance programme is in operation to treat priority routes around the County.

Met Eireann weather warnings will be monitored during the event. The Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team has met to assess the situation and ensure all necessary arrangements are put in place in advance of this severe weather event. All emergency repair crews and contractors will be on standby and ready to deal with any emergencies.

The public is advised to prepare for the possibility of travel disruption, difficult travel conditions, and delays to public transport. Motorists are urged not to make any unnecessary journeys during this orange event and to exercise extreme caution. Updates and advisories will be issued through local media, the Council's website, and social media channels.
