Superb night of music in Roscrea
On Saturday night, November 30, St Cronan's Catholic Church in Roscrea was filled with magic as the Roscrea Community Choir delivered a spectacular and memorable performance at their much anticipated ‘Christmas Celebration’ concert.
The packed audience rewarded the choir and guest artists with a spontaneous ovation and sustained applause, a clear testament to the evening's success.
Under the expert guidance of Musical Director William Cullagh, the concert featured an impressive lineup of talent including: Anne Phelan of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra as Orchestra leader and violin soloist; Yvonne O'Toole, soprano, and the Voice Academy by Yvonne O'Toole, and The Les Misérables group from the Cistercian College Roscrea 's 100th anniversary show.
Also featuring on the night were, Laoise Kennedy, All-Ireland fiddle champion; the incredible Orchestra of St Cronan's, led by Anne Phelan, and joined by The Midland String Quartet; Ruby Ashley (Oboe); musicians from the Tullamore Academy of Music and other multicultural members.
The beautifully decorated church was filled with festive music that heralded the Christmas season in the most magical way. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this night possible including: the St Vincent de Paul team and volunteers (our chosen charity on the night), Roscrea Musical Society members and the Pastoral Church members who managed the front of house and stewarding.
Also thanks to Alan Nolan Sound and Lighting for creating the perfect atmosphere; the crew who served refreshments, sponsored by the Roscrea Youth centre and Pastoral Council, and Fr Molloy and the parish council, for allowing the use of the magnificent Church
Special thanks to the dedicated choir members and the hard-working committee, whose efforts brought this event to life. A special thanks also goes to Redmond’s of Roscrea for our publicity photos and for capturing the night with stunning photography.
The reviews say it all: “spectacular”, “amazing”, “memorable” and “the talk of the town”.
Thank you all for supporting this extraordinary evening of music and community spirit.
