Celebrating the new year
Age Friendly Roscrea held our New Year Party, attended by 75 people, in The Norebrook Lounge, Clonakenny, on Sunday, January 12.
We had postponed for a week due to the snow, so everyone was up for a good day out after being confined to home for the week previously. We would like to thank Brigette Martin and her staff in the Norebrook Lounge for the wonderful welcome and lovely setting for this event.
Food was provided by Tommy Greed of the Gantly Way Restaurant, with clean plates going back to the kitchen! Music was by Tommy Flynn with a few songs from the audience and plenty of dancing.
It was an enjoyable afternoon with everyone catching up on news and chat. We look forward to the next day out.
We are just getting back to our routine after the Christmas break with the following groups back this week: Monday afternoons, 2-4pm - Craft Group; Tuesday afternoons, 2.30pm - the COPD support group meet in the Leisure Centre for an exercise class; Wednesday (January 22) - we have our monthly Courthouse Café for people living with memory loss. On Wednesday we also have our weekly Ukulele classes at 11am and 12 noon, Chair yoga at 2pm and the Rosie Greys at 3.15pm; Thursdays, we have three art classes at 9.30am, 12 noon and 2.30pm; Book club is the last Thursday of the month at 3pm; On Fridays, we have digital skills at 10.30am and our Friday Club at 2pm.
