Nenagh dance supports motor neurone charity

The fundraising social dance organised by Mary Lynch in Nenagh last November raised a very impressive total of €4,120 for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.

This was the fifth staging of the popular dance in the Scouts Hall that Mary has held annually in aid of the IMNDA. Around 180 people attended and many more donated to the cause even if they didn’t dance. A great night was enjoyed by all with music by Kerry’s Catriona O’Sullivan.

After recently presenting the proceeds to the IMNDA in her native Blarney, Co Cork, Mary took the opportunity to warmly thank everyone who supported the dance, including the local businesses that donated prizes and everyone who baked and provided refreshments on the night.

Mary has raised thousands of euros for the IMNDA over recent years and she always stresses that everything raised locally is spent locally, supporting families in need of the association’s services. And she is already looking forward to holding another social dance in Nenagh this year; the date is confirmed for Saturday, November 29 – mark it in your diary now!
