The TY and Fifth Year students that make up the cast of Nenagh College’s production of ‘Dancing Queen’.

Countdown to Nenagh College’s musical

The excitement is building in Nenagh College these days as the opening night of the school’s first ever musical production approaches.

Our TYs and some Fifth Years are busily perfecting the dance routines and songs of Abba’s much-loved music, while our leads are polishing up on their lines and acting performances ahead of the school’s debut outing. For our opening production we have chosen to do ‘Dancing Queen’ featuring the music and songs of Abba.

This musical is a wonderful opportunity for our students to gain stage experience, as well as push themselves out of their comfort zones, develop new skills and build confidence. Other students are on hand to take charge of the set and backstage management, along with costumes, props, front of house and ticket sales.

It really is a whole school endeavor and is creating a great sense of community amongst staff and pupils.

The show will be held in Nenagh College Sports Hall on the nights of Wednesday and Thursday, February 12 and 13, at 7.30pm each night.

The doors will open from 7pm and patrons are asked to be in their seats before the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets will be available to purchase on the door each night. Please note that we can only accept cash at the door as we have no card machine to accept electronic payments. You may also pre-book tickets by email at tickets@nenaghcollege.com Ticket prices are €15 for adults and €10 for children of school going age.

This much-loved and lighthearted musical is sure to have audiences singing along and tapping their feet.

We would love to see as many people as possible come along and support the young people of Nenagh and the surrounding area after all the hard work they put into this show.
