Take part in St Patrick's Day Parade

Volunteers also needed

The Chairperson of the Nenagh St Patrick’s Day Parade committee, Cllr Louise Morgan Walsh, is delighted to announce that plans are well underway to host a St Patrick’s Day Parade in Nenagh. The event promises to be a memorable occasion for all ages, celebrating our community spirit, heritage and creativity.

Cllr Morgan Walsh said: “The committee was formed last year, which involves many stakeholders including the Nenagh Chamber of Commerce and consultation with Tipperary County Council.

The plan so far is to gather at the Railway Station on St Patrick's Day at 1pm and march via Kenyon St/Pearse St/Kickham St concluding at the planned St Patrick’s Day Festival organised by Tipperary County Council, Spain AV and Nenagh Tourist Office.

“The parade and the festival will showcase the best of our local talent and attractions. We aim to create a vibrant and inclusive event, and we have called on all local clubs, organisations, and groups to join us in making this day truly special.

“Committee secretary and Nenagh Chamber of Commerce President, William Talbot, has done Trojan work to date in reaching out to community groups, apply for funding and arranging traffic management plans.

“This Saturday, February 15, is the closing date for clubs to register for the parade.

“To register, please email nenaghchamber@gmail.com or contact me on 087 6154146.

“Participation is free of charge, and we encourage participants to embrace the spirit of the day by incorporating themes, colours, or cultural elements into their displays.

“Anyone who would like to volunteer and help out with the parade, please email the Nenagh Chamber of Commerce or contact me directly.”
