Take part in Eason Spelling Bee competition
The Eason Spelling Bee is back for its twelfth year and Eason is calling on students from around the country to register for the upcoming competition, which aims to help children develop their reading and literacy skills in a fun and creative way.
The nationwide competition is part of an overall literacy and reading drive to encourage and inspire children to develop their spelling and pronunciation skills. Over the years the competition has helped school children gain a greater appreciation of words and fosters vocabulary growth and self-confidence for children.
Each registered school holds their own in-house spelling bee to determine which of their students will be put forward for the Eason Spelling Bee County finals, which will run across every county in the Republic of Ireland. Once each county champion is chosen, the winners will move on to the provincial finals where the top speller from each county will battle it out to be their provinces’ champion and move forward to the all-Ireland final where we will crown our Eason Spelling Bee winner for 2025.
Group Head of E-Commerce and Marketing at Eason, Lisa O’Brien, said: “We are thrilled to be entering into another year of the Eason Spelling Bee for 2025, what a testament to the children of Ireland! We are absolutely delighted that we are able to provide children with an educational exercise that boosts their confidence, reading and spelling, while also being lots of fun. This year, we’re hoping to build on the success of previous years and encourage everyone to get out there and get behind their local bees.”
The All-Ireland winning school will receive a collection of books for their library to the value of €7,500 and the winner themselves will be awarded a goodie package full of books worth €500 and the prestigious title of the 2025 Eason Spelling Bee champion.
