Slattery’s Garage Puckane debut new Peugeot 208 Rally4 at West Cork Rally

Slattery’s Garage, Main Peugeot Dealers in Puckane made an exciting return to the Irish rally scene, entering the brand-new Peugeot 208 Rally4 into the West Cork Rally.

Taking place over St. Patrick’s weekend, this event marked the first outing for the team in the new generation of the Peugeot 208 Rally4.

The West Cork Rally is a demanding three-day event featuring eighteen special stages, including two night stages. The rally drew an impressive entry list of 180 cars, with strong competition in the RC4 class.

Sixteen cars battled it out in this category, eleven of which are Peugeot 208 Rally4s with the Tipperary duo finishing sixth of eight in their category and 42nd overall.

Additionally, this event served as the opening round of the Stellantis IRL & UK Rally Cup, making it a key contest for teams competing in the championship.

Slattery’s Garage Puckane has a proud history in rallying, with Andrew Slattery and Shaun Forde previously securing the 2014 National Tarmac Championship title in the R2 class with their Peugeot 208 R2.

Now, after an eight-year hiatus, the duo have reunited to take on the challenge once again with the new Peugeot 208 Rally4, backed by Peugeot Ireland and Eurorepar (Stellantis multi-brand automotive spare parts supplier).

Andrew Slattery, Aftersales Manager at Slattery’s Garage, Main Peugeot Dealer in Puckane, said: “It was great to be back in a Peugeot 208 Rally4 after eight years away from the sport.

“The car is fantastic and really nice to drive. I’d like to thank Des Cannon, Managing Director of Peugeot Ireland for getting behind us and making this happen.”
