April exhibition in Nenagh Library
Kathleen Madden and Gemima Treacy, both originally from Tulla, Capparoe, will be exhibiting their artwork in Nenagh Library during the month of April and will launch on Tuesday evening, April 8, at 6.30pm.
Kathleen, now living in Templederry, began her artistic journey when she joined Jo Geaney’s art class and met other artists like Josie Croft. She has focused in the past on traditional methods like oils and acrylics but lately has been exploring the fascinating technique of paint pouring, an intriguing method that often leads to unexpected and unique results, totally different from her initial artistic vision.
Gemima, interested in art from an early age, loved drawing, particularly sketching. When life intervened and she moved to Thurles she decided to take up art classes properly, honing her skills and learning from exceptional teachers like Ann Mitchell, David McElgun and Catherine Daly.
Later she attended classes with Jo Geaney and Margaret O’Brien, both of whom, like Gemima, have connections to Nenagh. Used to using oil paints, Gemima has recently returned to her first love, sketching, and now finds watercolours suit her better.
This exhibition will launch in Nenagh Library on Tuesday, April 8, at 6.30pm and all are welcome.
