When did you make your Confirmation?

A good number of boys Confirmation Class photographs from Templemore have been gathered up in the last few years but we are still missing a few.

An email received last week from Brendan O’Connell of Loughmore, now living in Taiwan, who was looking for his photo from 1984, led to his classmate, Padraic Birmingham of Marian Road, unearthing that year. Currently we are on the lookout for the boys class photos from 1978,1979,1981 and 1985.

As there were no mobile phones at that time, the chances of someone having that photo now really depends on whether or not your parents purchased an official copy at the time. So the likely scenario for anyone who was confirmed in any of these years is that if you don’t have a copy yourself, your parents may have it at the family home, as was the case with Padraic Birmingham.

Should anyone unearth any of the above years, please contact Ronan Loughnane on 087-791721. It would be great to complete the boys collection, then start with the girls and perhaps publish a little book in the future with all the classes included. It would make for a lovely collectors item in years to come.
